How does a rain repellent work?

Heavy rains often hinder the driver's visibility. Usually, in cases of heavy rain, the cars brake more abruptly (due to lack of vision), the track is slippery. All of this contributes to a greater risk of driving and the chances of an accident increase considerably.

There are products on the market that help visibility by promoting very high repellency in glass when in contact with water. Some people call it crystallizers or rain repellents. These products are distinguished by their durability in glass.

Types of products

There are products with instant action that come out after the first rain. They are usually silicon bases that help for a moment when the rain is tight. They are cheap products and easy to apply. But they are not there when you need them, that is, when it rains you have to stop the car and apply.

Recently on the market, more precisely since 2015, Easytech has launched the RAIN, the first protective nano for glass in Brazil. Based on SiO2 nano particles, RAIN deposits inside the pores of the glass and does not come out easily. They are extremely difficult to remove, providing the product with up to 2 years of durability. This product category promotes protection at any time: there is no need to reapply for the hydrophobic effect to be there. Just rain and the magic happens.

Contrary to popular belief, these products are inexpensive and easy to apply. A bottle of RAIN 20ml, enough for up to 8 windshields in the range of R$ 45.00 in specialized stores.

Product action

Water in contact with the glass usually falls in a cascade. The weight and volume of water forces cleaners that end up wearing out faster. And so, you completely lose visibility. With a protection on the glass, the water finds a very hostile surface: when it touches the glass, the water is practically expelled by the repelling force, aided by the speed of the vehicle, pushing the drops upwards. It looks like magic.

A great benefit of using this type of product is the length of the reeds. Its use increases up to 5x since it does not need to move the same volume of water when the fall cascades.

This should be a safety item in modern vehicles. High performance, high performance and durability products are available at a very low cost, such as the RAIN.
